We’re staffed with qualified Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) and Assistants in accordance with the teacher/child ratios regulated by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. All staff have completed immunizations as required by the Public Health Department and are up to date with CPR-C and First Aid Certifications.
Beyond meeting all official requirements, there’s no doubt that our staff is what sets CBCC apart from other childcare centres. We have a very low turnover of employees, with many having served the centre for more than 10 years—and several employees who have been with us for more than 20 years.
Cheryl Hafenbrack, Director
Cheryl has been working with CBCC since 1997 after her graduation from Centennial College. A member of the College of Registered Early Childhood Educators, she started out in the preschool program until she became Senior Staff Member, later being promoted to Director. Cheryl is enthusiastic, and dedicated, and is always willing to expand her knowledge by attending workshops and applying her newfound knowledge to the centre.
Theresa Raponi, Assistant Director
Theresa has been at CBCC since 2001 when she graduated from Centennial College. Also a member of the College of Registered Early Childhood Educators, she has worked in almost every classroom in the centre. Formerly the Manager of our former off-site location, Theresa is proud to be CBCC’s Assistant Director and brings her experience and knowledge to the forefront of the centre.
